Navajo Lake

My awesome husband planned a fun adventure at Navajo lake with some other members of our ward.
It was such a beautiful night, cool but not cold, colorful and lots of kid laughter.

The kids spent most of the time fishing and running around doing all the fun things that kids get to do while the grown ups prepare the food and sit around talking.
At one point some of them were Cheetah spies!

They fished until it was impossibly dark, they caught 2 babies and one keeper,  which we ate for breakfast this morning...YUM!
Adi with her cousin Kayla.  Kayla and her sister came along with us adding to the FUN!

I love the mountains anytime but in the fall it's just extra special.

And to his delight, Quinn lost a tooth while we were there!

Vegetable Stand

Today our kids big adventure was setting up a veggie stand in our front yard trying to sell to people who drive by.  They didn't have much success, but they had tons of fun harvesting the veggies and setting up the stand then playing around waiting for customers.  They were so good and happy that I took a picture.  I love these awesome kids!   I thought I'd throw in this picture of Coulson in dress-ups because he is just so funny and cute.  Plus, he lives to make people laugh so, you better LAUGH!! ha!

Moon Lake Sept. 2011

We had such a great time, as always.  Sometimes I think we feel more at home in the mountains than we do at home.  Probably because there is a lot less responsibility and a bunch more fun!

Our big five year old celebrated his birthday there. Do you think he likes the color blue?

Grandma Grace, Grandpa Dale, and Nate and Kimber came up for a visit on Sunday.
And it wouldn't be a moon lake trip with out building a sand castle.  This year Seth went with an Egyptian theme.  The kids had lots of fun building the village around the pyramid.  Seth however was the main engineer of the pyramid.

No matter how cold it is, the kids still want to get in the water.  Yikes!

 The Lodge

 We Love Moon Lake
p.s. Adilaide decided to be a bit braver around the fish, but she still said they are yucky!  Where did this princess come from?

Puppies anyone?  We have 3 little black lab cuties left.
They have been kid loved, and would make great hunters.

Iron County 5k race

Yesterday, Labor Day, Quinn and Seth ran in the Iron County 5k and they did AWESOME.  We've been running a lot this summer and Quinn has done so well he wanted to enter this race.  He and Seth ran it in 24 minutes 75 seconds.  Quinn took 3rd place in his class of 10 and under.  He and the 2nd place boy were running neck and neck but the other boy pulled out ahead right near the finish line.

This weekend was also the Iron County Fair, which we love to be involved in.  We entered a bunch of our produce and got some nice ribbons.  Adilaide got a purple sweepstakes ribbon for her amazing 14ft. sunflower (we only took the head in), and Coulson got a Reserve ribbon for his Cosmic Purple carrots that he loves to grow.  With our earnings we were able to buy carnival tickets and go on a bunch of rides, plus buy dinner and attend the rodeo and watch fireworks.  I love our small towns down here in Southern Utah.  We also went to the parade which is always the best one of the year.

Coulson started preschool today.  Talk about excited.  He LOVES animals and his preschool teacher has 2 snakes a hermit crab a guinea pig a turtle a cockatiel and a dog.
I can't believe he turns 5 this week!

Fishing

In August my husband set a goal to take each of the kids camping over night (just them and him), which sometimes involved backpacking into a lake. They all had a blast and it was great bonding time for them. As this is my first post after a few years of silence on this blog. I'll make this brief and try to get better aquainted with blogging again.
 Coulson caught a brook trout
 Quinn caught a brown trout

Ellyn caught a rainbow trout

Adi, she was just SOOO busy being a princess that she forgot that
she should like to go fishing.  Maybe next year she'll want to go.
Yuck, scary slimy fish!!!
