Merry Christmas From the Ohms Family!

It's That TIme of Year

 Quinn got to experience being a lunch worker for the first time.

Adi got creative with her monster stickers.

 I got photographic evidence that they love each other.

(Adi, ever the snuggle bug, will climb into anyone's bed at night so she won't have to be alone)

We got to play with cousins over the Thanksgiving break.

 We got to visit the top of the mountain to get our Christmas tree and go sledding.

 Quinn got to sing in a choir that opened for the Oak Ridge boys.

Our whole family got to stay and watch the Oak Ridge Boys Christmas concert.

(Thanks, grandma and grandpa)  It was SO good.  

We all loved it and have had "Giddy-up, a Oom-bob-a-mao, mao" Stuck in 

our heads for a few days.

Hunting, Halloween, Happiness!

October brought a full month of Elk Hunting. At first it was all sorts of fun,

but after a while the kids just wanted to do anything but go hunting.

As for me, I just love being on the mountain so I loved it!

Unfortunately, we didn't get an Elk just made a bunch of memories.

The kids scared this huge porcupine up into a tree.  I think it was Coulsons favorite part.

Quinn finished reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so he got his "Harry Potter Party"

complete with Pretzel Wands, Bertie Botts, Butter Beer, Hershey kisses, and Pumpkin Pasties.

 My cousin Angie and her family came for a short visit to pick up a puppy.

The kids LOVE playing together.  

Coulson and Cole were born the same day and Adi and Aspen are only a month apart in age.

It was so great to see them.

They had so much fun planning the costumes and casting spells.

Hermoine's little brother got in a nice photo bomb.

We won first place at the trunk or treat for our decorated trunk.  The funny thing is we really didn't decorate, we just put our awesome dog in the back and everyone loved on him so we got the votes.

October was a really busy month.  I was in charge of our PTA Halloween Carnival, plus hunting, school, church calling, homework, piano lessons, puppies, BUT, it was such a fun month I hate to see it go.  Here come the Holidays!  I love this season, the smells, the family, and the spirit of Christ. If I didn't have to go Christmas shopping I think I would look forward to it a little more.  Shopping is definitely not one of my loves.

Moon Lake 2013

September 9th - 15th we enjoyed the wonders of staying at Moon Lake, in the Uinta mountains!

We enjoyed our time together immensely!  The Beauty, the smells, the RAIN!  Yes, we even enjoyed the rain showers that came every day and night.  

Coulson D celebrated his 7th birthday there.  

He's the type who loves to be free to run and explore the wonders of nature, so he felt extra blessed to be there for his big day.  Seth also enjoyed half of his birthday there the last day.

This year we stayed in Cabin number 3. While there it really starts to feel like home.  

I feel part of my heart lives there in that area.

Fishing: not so good.  But with 3 fish caught we were able to cook up a suitable breakfast. 

The lake level was low which left the creek leaving the lake empty, which is where we

usually catch the really good fish.  While we were there however, it rained so much the 

level of the lake came up quite a bit.  Usually we see the level fall from day to day instead of rise.

Scout, our awesome, super friendly, extra calm, Chocolate Lab had the time of his life.

He LOVES the water and for fun swims around trying to catch the "indian soap" that 

floats out in the water.  If it even looks like you are going to pick something up to throw in the lake

he gets this expectant look on his face.  I don't think he was dry the entire week.

One rainy afternoon we drove to another reservoir; Upper Still Water.  

The Dam is amazing.  I didn't get a good picture of it from the back side.  I found this one online.

 Back at Moon Lake, on Saturday we got a bit of sunshine and decided to make our traditional sand castle.  Here it is just getting started.

 One of the funnest parts about our trip this year was the cute little friends we made.  

This little cutie is named Marley.  We also had fun with her sister Camille and her Mom

Sunny and friend Bill.  It was so fun getting to know them.  They are now our 

Moon Lake family.

Quinn was taking pictures of the castle and got this one.  After I saw it I was just

thankful the camera wasn't ruined by a grain of sand.

Quinn and Seth did most of the big work on the castle.  The rest of us helped out by making  gardens, fountains, fences and olympic stadium, as well as dwellings for the peasents outside the kingdom.  Seth would like me to mention that it was the Temple of the Moon.  

The moon would come to rest in the big basin and only when it was set were the people able to enter the temple, aka: castle.  

The people who own the lodge enjoy our castle building and 

have kept track of the castles we have built in the past.

The deer there are quite friendly.  This doe and her fawn were eating rose hips right by our cabin.  Our dog Scout just laid there watching them.  We also encountered "Elliot" the one antler buck from the movie "Open Season."

 Quinn does not want me to tell this story but I must for memory sake.  He was finished playing horseshoes and was returning his horseshoes to our cabin when he thought he'd try for one more "ringer" around our shovel which was leaning up against the cabin.  His horshoe was wet and slippery and went a little high breaking the cabin window.  It scared the geebers out of me!  I was sitting on the bed and got showered by the glass.    Quinn thought he was in the biggest trouble of his life, but, David, from the lodge came to the rescue with a new pane of glass

 with minimal cost to us.

With all the rain, things got a little crazy!  The kids colored 40 pictures and then Friday afternoon our creative juices ran dry and we decided to go on another adventure.

We ended up in Vernal, Ut. at the Dinosaur museum!!!! Two thumbs up from us.  The kids, especially Coulson enjoyed it.
