Cedar City Half Marathon

Seth and I trained for and ran the Half Marathon.  Our time 1hr 59 min and 14 seconds.  Our goal was to do it in 2 hours.  I'd say we cut it pretty close.  It was a good experience and we will probably do it again some time.  Just not too soon.

Camping with Gma Grace and Gpa Dale

It turns out Coulson is a pretty good shot with the pellet gun.
He brought down a squirrel that was way up in a tree.
Grandpa Dale was one proud grandpa.

Seth told Coulson that if he killed it he would have to eat it.
So, he did.  First, they roasted it over the fire...
 Then he ate it.
The whole thing.
He shared some of it with Gpa and Daddy,
the other kids gave it a nibble and declared it disgusting,
but Couls said it was delicious!

Most of the time this is what we saw of the kids.
Blurs driving by on the four-wheelers.
They had such a great time, Quinn didn't ever want to take the helmet off.

We took a picnic lunch to Manning Reservoir, where we played on a fun cutt throat trout spawning thing.  It was an optical illusion, when you were standing straight up it looked like
you were about to fall over.  We all had a good laugh!

 Upper Box Creek Reservoir

Coulson caught a fish, but that's not all he caught...

He also caught a Blue Grouse or Pine Hen.
Don't worry he let it go after we convinced him it would not make a good pet.

Our successful bone hunters...

created this guy from all their bone treasures!

This was our last summer adventure before school started.  We all had such a great time I'm glad we got to spend it up on the mountain with Grandma Grace and Grandp Dale!

SUMMER...games

Summer means:  Playing in the Hammock, relaxing in the hammock, even sleeping over night in the hammock.  They LOVE the hammock.

Fathers and Sons campout at Yankee Meadow Res.
Summer "Buzz's"

Pitching horseshoes at the Utah Summer Games

Seth did well in the Summer Games 5k.  He took 3rd in his age category
with a time of 21:16.  That is fast!

Also, playing in the sprinklers, filling thousands of water balloons, s'mores, gardening, science camp, swimming lessons, bike rides, and so much more.  Summer FUN!

Busy Times, Lov'in Life

Life is wonderfully busy!  I love the spring sports; soccer and track.  We've had a ton of yard work and gardening to do which is where MOST of our spare time is spent. Not sitting in front of a computer posting blogs. So, our blog is suffering but we are enjoying each other and fun spring activities.

Ellyn turned 12!!!
She is a Young Woman now!  I get to be her beehive leader and I love it, and yes, so does she.  We took her out to lunch for her birthday.  It was a great lunch at the Pizza factory, but she got sick shortly after and threw it all up.  The sweet girl was more concerned that she threw up her lunch that we just bought her than she was about being sick.
She also took first in the 400m at the Hershey track meet and 2nd in the 200m.
Yay, off to Region!

I was able to join Coulson's class on a field trip to snow canyon.
I love first grade!  They are so much fun!

Hiking, Singing, Sleeping!

One fun Saturday we went out hiking in the desert.
Looking for a bit of history.  Indian pictographs, caves and the like.
We found this cute little guy who was bringing down many
lightning bolts to our heads.  We all made our interpretation of what
we thought the pictograph meant. I'm sure none of them were accurate, ha!

When we go out exploring it is not long before we hear Coulson's
voice calling for us to look at him.  Usually he has managed to climb to the highest
point possible.  Then I start calling out "Be Careful!!!"

 Council Cave
Here Coulson is pointing it out.

Pit stop. Lunch in Council Cave.
 View looking out.

Our pooch found a puddle on the rock and took a nice LOOONG break.
It made for a cute picture of her.  Willow is a great girl.

Behind the kids, up in the rocks you can see the great god Towats???
Don't quote me on that name, Seth knows it, ask him for details.

Whenever these two kiddos get to go to a store together they go
BUCK WILD!
Especially if it is a sporting good store.  To help
with the crazies, who were about to break something I know it,
Daddy had them hold on to the pockets and loops on his carpenter jeans.
It was so funny to watch them try to still do their thing while holding on
with one hand.  Use #56 for Carpenter Jeans.

My boys!

Last choir concert for the year.  Yay! The boys stood near each other
so I could get them both in one picture.

Coulson has been drawing some interesting pictures lately.  I asked him about
it and he told me that someday after he dies and gets to become like God
and make his own world he is going to make creatures like these.  He then
went on to describe, in detail, what these creatures would be like and what
they would eat and how he would be able to tame them all.
He's so Fun.

Adi all ready for the kindergarten Q & U wedding, and Valentines day.
This girl loves puppies.

 Coulson's first Soccer Game!
Go Red Dragons!

Adilaide is the snuggliest kid I have ever met.  She is 5 years old and I
thought she might have out grown it by now but NO she loves to Snuggle.
And we love her all the more for it.
Here are some of the latest snuggle sleeps.

She has also started taking her own pictures.  Like I said, she REALLY likes
puppies.  I found at least 50 pictures on the camera of this puppy book mark
in various locations around the house and yard.  I thought one of them deserved to
make it on the blog.
