Double Arch

Wow! Did it ever warm up quick. Saturday, in Kolob-Zion National Park, temperatures reached the upper 80's.  With the warmer weather we were itching to get out and hike. Since, it was free National Park day we hiked the Taylor's Creek Trail to Double arch, that is located in Kolob, which is only a 15 minute drive from our house. The hike is approx 5 miles round trip.  Very Moderate, great for children, we've found that 5 miles is about our limit with kids, then the whining really starts.

 Creek Crossings, we lost count around 34!  If you go on this hike be ready for wet feet.  We tried to keep the kids out of the water on the way there. And were fairly successful.

This kid, LOVES to hike. He loves catching lizards, and frogs, running, jumping, climbing on rocks

to pretend he is a mountain lion, sneaking ahead then hiding to scare us as we come by. 

He is our little naturalist. He is either lagging behind because he is looking in the creek at the bugs

under the rocks, or so far ahead we are worried about him. 

 Double Arch, is more like Double alcoves, but Seth says they are arches in the making.

On the way back, the kids walk down the creek, which is super refreshing since it was so hot.

   One of those magical family outings where you don't want it to end.
